Weekly Menu Extra Stage!!!!

Its been a while since I've put up a new post in this series. Thing is I usually only post things that I think are noteworthy so I don't post very often when I cook. However due to really pushing to make changes in myself this year I've actually been cooking quite a bit and just had not had a chance to post. In fact I'm gonna split this into multiple parts. Let's begin.

Chicken Noodle Bowl

1 pack of Udon Noodles (they come in single serving packs like Oodles N Noodles but unlike those Udon Noodles are not dehydrated but are actually still wet and are vacuum packed).

1 small can of mushrooms - You don't need a lot of them since you're only making one bowl.

1 package of broccoli slaw - This stuff is awesome. Its a mixture of shredded broccoli, carrots, and red cabbage. But again you don't need a lot.

1 boneless skinless chicken breast

Soy Sauce

Sesame Seeds

1 chicken bullion cube

Okay first thing to do is toss out the flavor packet that comes with the Udon noodles. Those things are full of sodium and pretty much taste like salt with no other flavor. Go ahead and get some water in to a post and start bringing it to a bowl. Be mindful of how much water you use because while you want enough to boil the noodles you don't too much which would dilute the chicken bullion cube. While that is going go ahead and cut up your chicken breast into chunks. The key is to get them as small as possible so they cook faster. Pan fry the chunks of chicken and mushrooms seasoning them how you like (I only used a small bit of sea salt and black pepper) in oil and set aside. You should be able to cook the chicken before the water gets to a boil for the noodles. Boil the noodles for about 3-4 minutes depending on your liking.

Here comes the tricky part but its only tricky if you care about presentation. Once the noodles are ready you need to get them into your bowl WITHOUT simply draining them over the sink. You need to save the water (remember it has the chicken bullion dissolved in it). I recommend taking a fork and patiently scooping them out into the serving bowl. After getting them out spread some of the broccoli slaw over the noodles. Add the pan fried chicken/mushrooms on top of or around the broccoli slaw. Now that water that you just scooped the noodles out of? Pour it over the entire dish. Drizzle some soy sauce and sesame seed oil over everything then sprinkle some sesame seeds over it and prestochangomagico:



And let me tell you that damn thing is off the hook!
